So, what Is Wireless Radio?
Music Policy
We wish to dedicate much of our airtime to the promotion of new artists who are writing their own material and deserve to have it heard by a wider public. We also wish to concentrate on music from the 30s 40s 50s and 60s which tends to get overlooked on many mainstream stations.
This means that you won’t be hearing lots of chart music on this station. There are hundreds of FM , AM and internet stations that play round the clock “pop” music all day long so we do not wish to be just another one of the those. Rather than competing with other well established broadcasters, we want to offer something completely different.
Our Programming
To make sure you don’t miss out on the programmes you want to hear, we have a rolling schedule of programming. A bit like some of the satellite TV stations - we will repeat the same programme at various times throughout the day so that everybody has a chance to hear it. We aim to offer a balance of programme content with new music and writing, interesting interviews on a whole wealth of subjects, what’s on guide, sports news and community events, so there really should be something to suit everybody over the course of the day.
How YOU Can Contribute
If YOU are a songwriter, musician or group and have written your own material – provided that it is of an non-offensive or prejudicial nature – we will play it on this station as part of our series of features on emerging artists.
This also goes for stories, poetry, drama or documentaries. If you’d like to get involved, drop us a line via the contact form in the left hand column and we’ll get back to you.
